  • Recycling has begun in industrial and domestic environments, with separation of materials.


  • The recyclables material has restored its useful life, to be marketed again.


  • The hospitals have used red container, to throw hazardous or infected waste.

  • The people have used yellow container, to throw all kind of plastic, as bottle or bags.


  • The companies have used blue container, to throw paper and cardboard.


  • The people have used green container, to throw glass.

  • The grey container has been to used to throw biodegradable material.

  • The people have become aware of the benefits of recycling, allowing better care of Earth.

THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS OF THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION


CAUSE

57.000 people were killed by the cholera epidemic between   1832-1834.
A drainage system was created in the areas with more population infected
Emission from coal-powered plants resulted in acid rain.
The soil acidity increased and it produced infertility.
Pneumonic diseases increased.
A lot of women and children died.
Coal was burned and it produced toxic gases.
People that inhaled this, gave nausea, dizziness or cronic respiratory disease.
Factories polluted rivers and canals with sewage and industrial waste.
Animals, plants and people that depended on this water was sick or died.

POLLUTION FROM COAL AND OIL IN COLOMBIA


  • How does coal pollute the soil? When coal is extracted from the ground miners remove lots of soil, then the soil loses it fertility, and after that we have soil erosion.









  • How does coal pollute the air? When coal is extracted from the ground, a lot of dust and coal particles are emitted and then many people get respiratory illnesses.


  • How does coat pollute the water? When coal is extracted from the ground too much water is used to mine it, that water is polluted because use a lot of heavy metals.


  • How does oil pollute the water? When oil is transported in ships, a few ships can have oil spills, because of this, too many fish and birds die.

  • How does oil pollute the water? When oil is drilled, miners use too much water, this water ends up polluted, besides, the drilling pollutes the groundwater, due to this too many animals and people that depend on this water are affected.


  • How does oil pollute the soil?  When the industrial waste from the extraction of oil is dumped on the soil, it loses its fertility because the waste contains too many chemicals that alter the composition of the soil.

Positive consequences

  • If we clear the forest, we will have a land for agricultural uses.
  • If we cut the trees, we will build more residential houses



Negative consequences
  • If we continue with the removal of the forests to build factories, the smog will increase


  • If we clear the forest, the temperature will increase
